Abandoned Mines Program

Ulara's Abandoned Mine Program exists to manage legacy mining impacts at abandoned mine sites. Ulara's input ranges from active remediation programs including investigation, design and implementation rehabilitation activities, to care and maintenance programs and responses to specific abandoned mine issues.

Ulara actively investigates opportunities to re-commercialise abandoned mine sites and work with local, state and federal governments to build programs that provide a foundation and ongoing process to rehabilitate and restore the ecosystems of legacy mining areas.

Ulara has the skills, capabilities and resources to restore areas that have been disturbed or contaminated by historical mining activities.  Ulara can provide equipment and technical know-how to the removal of waste rock and tailings, re-vegetation of disturbed areas, and the treatment of contaminated soil and water.

Ulara's mine site remediation approach aims to mitigate environmental damage caused by mining activities and restore a site to a safe and functional condition. Depending on the nature and extent of the contamination, Ulara is also able to apply various techniques such as bioremediation, chemical treatment, and physical removal of contaminants to remediate mine sites.
