Automation and Safety

Ulara is harnessing new and emerging technologies to make our operations more efficient, safer and more environmentally friendly.  We do this all the way through the mining life cycle: as we explore, design, build, operate and close our assets.
 

Automation has been part of our mission and business for more than a decade, and helps us run safer, more efficient and low cost operations. Ulara is implementing operational efficiencies and improving safety by increasing real time feedback and automation of load / haul and support equipment.

Water

Ulara is applying and testing new technologies that offer a range of water conservation and management solutions to serve the mining industry. 

​

Ulara is promoting and supporting the development of water treatment solutions for the management of process water, waste water, tailings treatment, and potable water. The technology also allows us to target and treat a specific range of contaminants typical to abandoned mine sites and polluted waterways.

Ulara understands the challenges when dealing with constraints in the mining industry, such as mission-critical water supply, treatment reliability, site remoteness, and the need for modular (mobile) solutions.

Equipment Productivity and Remote Mine Management

Ulara is in the process of refining proprietary remote mine management tools including telemetry systems, that use GPS and wireless communication to track the location and performance of equipment, and remote control systems, to allow operators to monitor and control equipment from a distance. Ulara also employs in-house data analytics software, which is used to analyse performance data and identify areas for improvement in remote communications scenarios.

Ulara's reserach and development into mining technolgy is primarily concerned with the effective use of mining equipment management and remote mine management tools to help reduce costs, improve safety, and increase efficiency in mining operations.
